I'm Kevin Villani, the driving force behind KeyChem Solutions. With over fifteen years of experience in commercial nuclear power, complemented by six years in naval nuclear operations, and armed with an engineering degree, my passion for problem-solving runs deep. I am poised to transform your nuclear chemistry operations. As a committed nuclear chemistry consultant, my mission is to enhance your processes, tackle complex challenges, and empower your team through training and mentorship.

My career path has been distinguished by pivotal roles that have not only sharpened my expertise but also underscored the vital role of nuclear chemistry in safeguarding public safety and ensuring operational excellence. 

My initiation into the nuclear field began in the naval nuclear program, where I served as an engineering laboratory technician. Transitioning from the Navy, I furthered my education with an Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering, emphasizing Chemical Engineering. Progressing through the ranks, I evolved from a Chemistry Technician to a Chemist, and ultimately to a Chemistry Supervisor. A highlight was my role as Manager of Radiological Dose Assessment, where I excelled in performing critical evaluations and deploying swift response measures, showcasing my adeptness in handling high-pressure situations.

Throughout my career, I have held diverse leadership positions within nuclear chemistry, overseeing chemistry programs and managing power plant shutdowns and restarts, including cobalt dissolution and deboration. These experiences have refined my skills and deepened my understanding of the industry. 

As the owner of the secondary chemistry program, I spearheaded initiatives that significantly enhanced operational efficiency, environmental stewardship, and safety, earning the Top Industry Performance award for a deposit minimization treatment (DMT) that removed years of corrosion product buildup in steam generators. Additionally, as a crucial contributor to the design and implementation of poly-acrylic acid injection, we've maintained the cleanliness achieved by DMT.
